TYRESE SPICER, another key component of head coach Derek King’s attack, is missing and undergoing close monitoring by his club ahead of Trinidad and Tobago’s first home match in the 2026/2027 CONCACAF Nations League today.
“Spicer is out with a fracture,” King reported at yesterday’s pre-match news conference, while announcing that locally-based Club Sando captain Shivonez Hamilton and USA-based midfielder Michael Poon Angeron have both been brought into the squad.
T&T’s head coach also expects his captain Levi Garcia to be fully recovered from the fatigue he suffered after flying in very late from Europe for the teams first game against Haiti where he had to be taken off with a quarter-hour to go.
The shock of Thursday night’s last-kick 3–2 defeat to the Haitians aside, T&T will look to get their League A campaign back on track when they host the Dominican Republic today.
Tonight’s match will be played at a later-than-usual start time of 9 p.m.
“The kick-off times for these matches are not set by the TTFA.
It is set by CONCACAF,” TTFA media officer Shaun Fuentes stated, further explaining that television rights, particularly those held by United States-based networks, had a strong hand in determining the times.
Despite the late kick-off, King is asking for strong home support for his Warriors.
“The game is very important to us, our first game in the Nations League at home,” King said.
