Manchester United's academy players have been given a well-deserved break following the end of the season, while others have represented their respective nations' youth teams.

Lawrence led the U21s to the Premier League 2 play-off final, where they were narrowly beaten by Brighton, and his interim stint in charge has been viewed as a success by academy chiefs.

Praise for Binnion The U21 manager role vacancy was created when Binnion stepped up to help the first-team staff six months ago.

Binnion initially helped Darren Fletcher before being confirmed as part of Carrick's backroom staff.

Different sources have always spoken highly of Binnion, and one source recently admitted that his first-team promotion was well deserved after seven years as a key figure in the academy system.
