Tom Izzo picked up another elite recruit to kick off his next class.
Five-star point guard Antonio Pemberton announced Friday, Sept.
18, he will play for Izzo and Michigan State basketball, the first commit in the 2027 class for MSU.
Pemberton chose the Spartans over seven other finalists: Boston College, Creighton, Kansas, Marquette, Ohio State, Tennessee and UCLA.
A 6-foot-1, 180-pound native of Methuen, Massachusetts, Pemberton is rated the No.

5 point guard according to 247Sports' composite rankings.
Pemberton made his announcement on CBSSports.com from Masters Academy International (Massachusetts), where he transferred this year to follow his previous coach Jason Smith after playing for him previously at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire.
