NORTH ALGONA WILBERFORCE – Shaw Woods Outdoor Education Centre has announced that Nuclear Laboratory Partners of Canada (NLPC), the operating manager of Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL), has decided to support the Shaw Woods Outdoor Education Centre with a $10,000 donation to help advance its educational programming and outdoor learning opportunities.

Shaw Woods Outdoor Education Centre provides hands-on experiences that connects people of all ages with nature, local ecology, and environmental stewardship.

Through a variety of educational programs and outdoor activities, the centre fosters curiosity, encourages environmental awareness, and helps participants develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

“This donation will support the centre’s ongoing efforts to deliver engaging educational programming that inspires learning beyond the classroom and encourages participants to explore and better understand their environment,” said Eric McGoey, vice president, corporate affairs.

“For decades, Shaw Woods has served as a valuable community resource, welcoming students, families, and visitors to experience the region’s unique natural heritage.

The centre’s programs provide opportunities to learn about local ecosystems, conservation, and sustainable environmental practices while promoting physical activity and outdoor exploration.

NLPC recognizes that organizations like Shaw Woods play an important role in building healthy and vibrant communities by providing meaningful educational experiences and fostering a lifelong connection to nature.” McGoey also extended his gratitude....
