Having flooded city streets - and beyond - with music for over a week, Durham Brass Festival wrapped up at the weekend with a final blast of entertainment.
The annual festival, celebrating its 20-year anniversary this summer, had laid on a packed programme over its July 12-19 run entertaining crowds of visitors.
And there were more crowds - and more sunshine - for its final days when, besides the big band music, there was a screening of a famous film that was hitting a milestone of its own.
Also with music at its heart, movie hit Brassed Off - whose cast includes local actor Stephen Tompkinson alongside Ewan McGregor and the late Pete Postlewaite story of a colliery band hit by the closure of the local pit - had a 30-year anniversary screening at the city's Gala Theatre.
The Durham County Council-run festival struck a chord well beyond the city too.
With its programme of concerts, street bands and community activities, it extended to venues, including schools and care homes, throughout County Durham with this pick of images showing scenes in the likes of Spennymoor and Locomotion at Shildon.
Communities in Easington, Pelton and Bishop Auckland, for instance, came together for tea dances in the company of the Tyne Valley Big Band and blues band The Revolutionaires.
