Vancouver short-term rental listings jump ahead of World Cup Airbnb listings jump Short-term rental (STR) listings jumped 11.3 per cent in Metro Vancouver in the 10 months leading up to April, according to data analytics firm AirDNA, as the city gets ready to host seven FIFA World Cup games in the next two months.
The region had 14,004 listings in June 2025, according to data that it sent Business in Vancouver on Thursday, May 21.
The number of listings then jumped to 15,588 at the start of April.
The company tracks the number of units on the market on the platforms Airbnb and Vrbo.

Growth in those listings is highest in cities with what it called "limited lodging supply." Of those 16 cities, Vancouver ranks fifth for STR listings growth.
Topping the list is Kansas City, with a whopping 43-per-cent growth.
That was followed by the Mexican cities Monterrey and Guadalajara with 23-per-cent and 16-per-cent growth respectively.
The fourth highest year-over-year STR listings growth is the Dallas-Fort Worth region, according to Air DNA.
The city hosting FIFA World Cup games with the lowest year-over-year growth for STR listings was the San Francisco and Bay Area region, with only one-per-cent growth.
