Anthropic announced the release of its latest artificial intelligence model, Claude Opus 4.7, on Thursday, positioning it as the most powerful generally available model in its current lineup.
The company stated that the new model demonstrates significant improvements in software engineering, instruction following and the completion of real-world tasks compared to its predecessor.
While Opus 4.7 is designed for broad commercial use, Anthropic has intentionally restricted its advanced cybersecurity capabilities to align with its safety-first development framework.
The launch follows the February debut of Claude Opus 4.6 and signals an accelerated release cycle for the San Francisco-based AI firm.
According to Anthropic, the new model outperforms previous versions across several industry benchmarks, particularly in areas involving agentic coding, multidisciplinary reasoning and scaled tool use.
