Ethan Strange faces one final pre-Origin test - against the Roosters.

Pictures by Keegan Carroll, Jonathan Carroll, AAP Images Canberra Raiders five-eighth Ethan Strange has already laid down a strong marker in the win over North Queensland, following his stunning NSW Blues debut.

Now the Green Machine will take on the Roosters and their Origin stars at Canberra Stadium on Friday night.

It's the last chance to impress before Blues coach Laurie Daley names his side for Origin II next week.

A couple of injuries have also opened the door for a couple of Strange's teammates - Tom Starling and Corey Horsburgh.

NSW hooker Blayke Brailey broke his arm, while there's also doubt over Queensland lock Pat Carrigan (ankle).

Strange showed he's perfectly suited to wearing the No.6 jersey in the opener, when he came in off 48 hours notice to replace Mitchell Moses (hamstring).

Daley's indicated he would pick Moses - who Parramatta coach Jason Ryles expects to be fit for the Eels' clash against Canterbury next Monday.

But many feel Strange has shown he's ready and deserves to keep his Blues jersey.

The 21-year-old will, at the very least, be on the bench.

Strange said he was desperate to get back on the big stage.

"Yeah, 100 per cent.

Once you've tasted that rep footy there's nothing quite like it," he said.

"The energy around it and those boys in the camp, such good footy players, and I'm always learning a lot off them.

"Obviously just keep trying hard for Canberra and training hard, and when I get in there just being a sponge off those two boys, 'Moey' [Moses] and Nathan [Cleary]." While the Raiders will be without centre Sebastian Kris (concussion) for the Roosters game, they could welcome back a few players.

Hooker Jayden Brailey's likely to return from concussion, while Joe Roddy (hand) and Josh Papali'i (calf) were expected to be back by about round 14 - although it would be on the lower end of Papali'i's six-to-eight-week absence.

Ironically, Moses has helped Strange develop.

Both Moses and Penrith supremo Cleary took him under their wing on the Kangaroos tour of England last year - and did the same in Origin camp.

"Moey and Nathan are massive," Strange said.

"Whenever I ask questions, they're always there to help me out and they've got such smart football brains.

"They never make it feel like it's a burden when I'm asking them, they're always happy to help.

"Just the way they see the game ...

even watching them at training and the way they do things, and go about their work is second to none." Raiders coach Ricky Stuart said Strange still had plenty of improvement left in him.

Given he's only 21, Strange agreed.

Despite being so young, he's got the ability to completely tune....
