Aaron Rodgers has said in the past that his use of the psychedelic drug ayahuasca has allowed him to see his life more clearly.
He saw his mental state improve after using it and following the ceremonies he viewed his play as going to a new level on the football field.
A past experience in South America also led to him seeing something else: A headless man.
Rodgers explained this past hallucination while he appeared on the "Not Just Football" podcast hosted by Pittsburgh Steelers teammate Cam Heyward prior to the start of his 22nd and what he says is his final NFL season.
The former Green Bay Packers quarterback has spoken often about his use of ayahuasca in recent years and it was chronicled as part of a Netflix documentary on Rodgers called "Enigma." Heyward brought up a clip from the documentary in which Rodgers was in a white beater and playing the bongos during one of the ayahuasca ceremonies.
That night, Rodgers said, he had a "wild" trip.
"Me, personally, like the night of the bongos I had the giggles for hours," Rodgers said.
"I was just so happy I had the giggles.
I sat in front of the maestro there and as I sat in front of him he didn’t have a head.
"Oh, God, that was pretty wild.
