Reykjavík experienced its wettest first half of July since records began, according to new weather data, while much of North and East Iceland enjoyed warmer and sunnier conditions than average.
The capital also recorded below-average temperatures and significantly fewer hours of sunshine during the first half of the month, highlighting the sharp regional contrast in Iceland’s summer weather.
