A prominent figure in Shetland’s tourism sector this week called for any tourism tax to be used to improve infrastructure across the isles.
Amanda Hawick, who is chairwoman of the Shetland Tourism Association, argued that any point-of-entry levy implemented by Shetland Islands Council should be ring-fenced to bolster the sector.
