The Patriots are among several teams keeping tabs on Maxx Crosby’s situation in Las Vegas, according to Sports Illustrated‘s Albert Breer, and a deal for the 28-year-old pass-rusher could potentially happen this week.
“I’d lean toward a Maxx Crosby trade happening, and maybe this week,” Breer wrote in a recent column.
“But there’s going to have to be some needle-threading.
“I don’t think the Raiders want to go through the song-and-dance of shopping him, nor do I believe Crosby wants it advertised that he’s looking for suitors, given his bond with owner Mark Davis, and his view of himself as a Raider.” The “cleanest” outcome for the parties involved, Breer wrote, would be for a market to emerge organically.
That could happen, he said, as teams get a better picture of what their spending and roster situations look like.
He mentioned several teams keeping an eye on Crosby: Dallas, Chicago, Baltimore, Buffalo, New England, Philadelphia, and the Los Angeles Rams.
During an appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show,” NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero said the Raiders have been receiving interest from multiple teams.
“I would say it is fair to assume that the Raiders are getting many calls about Maxx Crosby,” Pelissero said.
